Orthodontics

A dentist specializing in treating crooked or misaligned teeth is called an orthodontist. Contrary to common assumption, orthodontics is not only about the aesthetics of patients’ smiles; it is also about their dental health.

Patients who see an orthodontist for treatment often report that brushing and flossing their teeth is simpler. It dramatically lowers the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease. Orthodontists treat a variety of problems, including the following:

  • Overbite, underbite, open bite, and crossbite
  • Teeth gaps and spacing
  • Tooth crowding

Braces in the Traditional Style

Braces are a system of metal brackets that are individually attached to each tooth, including the rear teeth. Conventional braces provide the most noticeable advantages and long-term outcomes when your teeth are severely crooked.

Invisalign

If you’d rather skip metal orthodontics entirely, you’ll be relieved to find that we also offer Invisalign clear aligners. After a quick examination, we fabricate a set of clear plastic trays that are worn for at least 22 hours every day for 12 to 18 months. After wearing a pair of trays for a certain amount of time (usually approximately two weeks), you’ll progress to the next pair in the series.

Braces in Clear/Ceramic

Would you rather conceal your braces without jeopardizing your treatment? Clear ceramic braces are made using translucent materials. Bear in mind that individuals with severe misalignment may benefit from conventional braces, which are more flexible than ceramic materials.

Pediatric Orthodontics

Some young children may need orthodontic treatment between six and nine. Typically, this aids in developing the jaw and realigns it so that permanent teeth may emerge correctly. Additionally, it strengthens the connection between the upper and lower jaws.

Treatment may comprise the use of growth appliances, expanders, or partial braces and is only recommended if all baby teeth have emerged and are beginning to make way for permanent teeth.

Adult Orthodontics

People of various ages can benefit from orthodontic treatment. Whether you select conventional braces, Invisalign clear aligners, another treatment option to correct crooked teeth, or relapse from prior treatment, we’ll work with you to determine which choice best matches your lifestyle.

We wish to make orthodontics accessible to anyone. We can help you whether you are a parent with a child who needs proactive orthodontic treatment or an adult seeking to straighten your teeth and improve your bite with the help of our experienced dentist Dr.Edward Shluper, DDS.
